Sports
Kevin's athletic journey spans the basketball courts, soccer, golf, pool, bowling, rugby pitch, and baseball field. From tennis tournaments to swimming competitions, the crack of a baseball, and the rugged intensity of rugby, he has embraced diverse sports.
Kevin's junior year was a transformative journey marked by dedication, growth, and leadership.
As Co-Captain of the South Salem High School Tennis Team, Kevin embraced the responsibility of leading by example-fostering team cohesion, communication, and competitive spirit. He also contributed to our swimming team’s district-level victory and celebrated a first-place finish in track and field.
These experiences taught him resilience, collaboration, and the power of purposeful effort. He established a solid foundation and value and hopefully he will carry these values into his college journey and beyond.

Tennis has been one of Kevin favorite sports since he began playing at the age of six. From an early age, he was drawn to the energy, discipline, and strategy required by the game.Throughout elementary school, junior high, and high school, he stayed dedicated to developing his skills and improving his performance on the court. The consistency of practice and competition helped shape not only his athletic abilities but also his work ethic and personal discipline. Over the years, Kevin participated in numerous school tennis matches, each one giving him the chance to grow and learn from both victory and defeat.Competing regularly allowed him to sharpen his technical skills and build resilience. One of the most memorable experiences was being named Co-Captain of his high school tennis team during his junior year. This role gave him valuable leadership experience, as he helped guide practices, support his teammates, and lead by example on and off the court. His passion for tennis continues to grow, and he hopes to contribute to his future university’s tennis team.He is eager to bring not only his skills as a player but also his commitment to teamwork, perseverance, and continuous improvement.Being part of a collegiate team would allow him to compete at a higher level while representing his school with pride and determination. Beyond competition, tennis has taught him the importance of balancing physical, mental, and psychological well-being.Practices are not only about technique and fitness—they also offer moments of personal reflection and growth.Through tennis, Kevin has had the opportunity to meet and play with inspirational players from different parts of the world, each of whom has broadened his perspective on the sport.Tennis will always be a part of his life, and he looks forward to continuing this journey in college and beyond.

Soccer

Kevin has been swimming for a fair amount of time now- long practices, and countless laps. At first, it was all about racing and improving my own times, but over the years, he started to find just as much joy in helping others learn. Becoming a certified instructor and lifeguard felt like a natural next step. Now Kevin spend my weekends teaching younger kids how to swim, and honestly, seeing their confidence grow in the water is very fulfilling. It’s rewarding to give back to a sport that’s shaped so much of who he is.
